- Body-Parts Models
- Frequently part of television commercials
- Many have exceptionally attractive body parts; but there is also a demand for unattractive or unusually looking body parts for particular campaigns
- Parts usually are hands, feet, abs, bust/chest, legs, and lips
- Fitness Models
- Focuses on displaying a healthy tone physique
- Have defined muscle groups (both major and minor)
- Body weight is usually heavier due to muscle weighing more than fat, but do have a low body fat percentage and muscles are toned/sculpted
- Advertised usually in magazines, commercials, fitness centers
- Commercial Print and On-Camera Models
- Generally appear in print ads for non-fashion products, and in television commercials
- Commercial print models are usually non-exclusive
- Primarily work in one location
- Trade Show Models
- Work a trade show floorspace or booth
- Usually freelancers hired by the company
- Draws attentions for the company
- Have to learn quickly and able to explain products and services of the company to help increase sales from participation in the show
- Supermodels
- Highly paid, high profile fashion models with a great amount of experience
- Fashion/Runway model requirements
- Appear on top fashion magazine covers, national advertisements, and in fashion shows
- Appearance in advertising can attract huge amounts of sales
- Sometimes advertise a brand exclusively, as "the face" of that brand
This is just a glimpse of the Fashion world. The models may seen glamorous, but you never know the amount of sweat and blood behind the scene. Many girls desire to be a model these days, if you meet all of the requirements and are lucky to pursue your dreams, then congratulations!
